This module, “Everyday Digital Life: Staying Social,” is part of the Gen-Infinity Digital Skills Curriculum and is designed as a practical teaching tool for VET educators, trainers, and adult education practitioners working with older learners and seniors.
The purpose of this module is to support educators in teaching essential digital communication skills that help seniors remain socially connected in an increasingly digital society. Many everyday interactions — keeping in touch with family, accessing community information, or participating in social life — now rely on digital tools such as email, messaging applications, video calls, and social media. For older adults, these tools can significantly reduce isolation, strengthen relationships, and promote active participation in community life.
This module provides structured lesson scenarios, step-by-step guidance, and ready-to-use activities that educators can directly apply in classroom, blended, or informal learning settings. The content is grounded in real-life situations and builds on learners’ existing communication habits, helping educators bridge the gap between traditional and digital forms of social interaction.
